Model Air paint should be reduced with Model Air Thinner, since this product conserves the properties of the colours. When using thinner, the paint must be reduced to a creamy consistency to help stabilise an even flow. Model Air colors can be mixed with one another.
It is highly recommended to avoid mixing acrylic paints with alcohol and/or solvents to protect the integrity of the paint and the equipment being used.
Once your project has been painted and protected with varnish, (Gloss, Matte or Satin) Model Air can be painted over with solvent based enamels or oil colours, as they withstand cleaning with turpentine and even a light wash with alcohol. The resistance to abrasion of the colors, once varnished, is superior to any other water based acrylic.
Cleaning the airbrush immediately after use with airbrush cleaner, will eliminate the need to remove the needle and nozzle due to dried paint particles. This will also help to reduce any damage or injury being caused to yourself or the airbrush. Precise cleaning is paramount in the upkeep of the airbrush and the equipment used and will help make your creative life easier, to achieve quality results with a professional finish.
